What is Metatron’s Cube?

Metatron’s Cube is a sacred geometrical symbol illustrating a map of creation and has been honored by many cultures throughout history.

Metatron’s Cube is a spiritual geometric shape representing balance, harmony, creative opportunities, and energy flow throughout the Universe.

It was frequently drawn as a glyph on a person or object to ward off demons or negative energy. This is similar to a technique used to contain energy in alchemy and sigil magic.

The straight lines in Metatron’s Cube connect to every circle symbolizing harmony and the flow of energy in the Universe, illustrating how we are all spiritually connected.

History of Metatron’s Cube

Metatron’s Cube is named after the Archangel Metatron, who guards the Tree of Life. He’s been spoken of (or an equivalent of him) in Jewish mysticism (Kabbala), Islamic, Egyptian, and Christian Middle Age writings. Metatron was often referred to as The King of Angels or the Angel of Death and is said to rule over the “Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil.”

Metatron’s Cube is connected to Sacred Geometry, which has existed in many forms throughout history. The ancient Egyptians, Sumerians, and Ancient Greeks were all aware of the natural power behind Sacred Geometry. Geometry is derived from Greek words meaning Earth measurement, which essentially means the study of forms and mathematical rules found in Nature.

Metatron’s Cube includes the platonic solids (tetrahedron, hexahedron, octahedron, dodecahedron, and icosahedron). Plato determined the platonic solids represented the five building blocks of matter and paired them with the elements (fire, air, earth, water, and aether). You can easily see the platonic solids simply by looking at crystals!

The five [platonic] solids are geometrical forms that are said to act as a template from which all life springs. The structures are crucial because they are the building blocks of organic life.

These five structures are found in minerals, animated an organic life forms, sound, music, and language.

Who Created Metatron’s Cube?

Many people believe medieval Italian mathematician Leonardo Pisano (also known as Fibonacci) discovered the shape of Metatron’s Cube, but I haven’t found any credible sources to support that claim. However, Leonardo Pisano (also known as Fibonacci) discovered the Fibonacci sequence, a spiral found in Nature (snail shells, sunflowers, pine cones, etc.) and Sacred Geometry.

According to legend, Metatron constructed the cube out of his soul, which became known as Metatron’s Cube. Metatron used this spiritual cube to guard the energy flow between earth and spiritual realms.

According to the Second Book of Enoch, Metatron was a descendant of Noah who was turned into an archangel after he ascended into heaven.

Metatron is not a figure of the Hebrew Bible, but his name appears briefly in several passages of the Talmud. His legends are predominantly found in mystical Kabbalistic texts.

He is variously identified as the Prince (or Angel) of the Presence, as Michael the archangel, or as Enoch after his bodily ascent into heaven.

Metatron is usually depicted as a messenger of the Abrahamic God, and he records men’s sins and virtues. Metatron is believed to be a scribe and keeper of heavenly knowledge, an angel of the highest order, and second only to the Abrahamic God (YHVH aka Yahweh). Much of Metatron’s symbolism and meaning is derived from Numerology.

What is the Meaning of Metatron’s Cube?

Metatron’s Cube is one of the most influential spiritual symbols in Sacred Geometry. It is said to contain the secrets of the Universe, and its patterns are thought to be a gateway into higher dimensions. It’s a symbolic representation of balance, harmony, and spiritual energy.

When it comes to the meaning of Metatron’s Cube, the most important thing to understand is how the lines connect to the circles. When you draw a line connecting each of the 13 circles, it creates the Metatron’s Cube symbol!

These connections represent the flow of energy between everything in the Universe and Nature. Metatron’s Cube is the manifestation of time, space, and energy. It explains how we come into being. We are a higher vibrational geometry that is endlessly expanding and unfolding like a flower with color or sound.

Some spiritual practitioners believe the circles represent feminine energy and the lines symbolize masculine energy. However, as I explained in Magical Properties of Herbs, I believe assigning preconceived spiritual gender correspondences is an outdated practice.
