Pink Moon Magic: The Wondrous Mysteries of April’s Full Moon
The Full Moon of April 2024 is called the Pink Moon. Depending on where you live, Spring may be in full season, or newly formed buds are just beginning to take shape.
Determined tulips and daffodils push their way forward, destined to show off a bright, brilliant display of colors. The air simmers with anticipation and possibilities! We are entirely immersed in the season of Spring and with it, themes of prosperity and a deep internal mindset shift.
Every full moon has its own name based on the month or season it appears in. Creating a name for each full Moon allows people to reflect on each season and how it affects them and the natural world. Due to their origins, the full moon names can vary slightly.
Most Full Moon names are English translations of Native American names; others are rooted in Celtic, European (Anglo-Saxon and Germanic), and more recent Neo-Pagan origins. I created a guide to each Full Moon, complete with their meanings and how you can celebrate
Please note that I make every effort to ensure this information is correct and accurate through my own experiences and referencing sources throughout AND at the bottom of this article.

Find a way to connect with yourself as well. You’ll need a strong and grounding root system as you attempt to accomplish your goals. What do you need to feel stable? What boundaries do you need to establish with yourself or your loved ones?
Artist Date
I once heard Elizabeth Gilbert say reading Julia Cameron’s book, “The Artist’s Way,” helped inspire her to write Eat, Pray, Love. So, I snagged my own copy, and it was truly inspiring. My two biggest takeaways are prioritizing writing or journaling every morning and weekly Artist Dates.
The Full moon of April 2024 embodies an Artist Date, so why not combine the two? An Artist Date is basically a solo adventure of assigned fun! It can be simple or more intentional. They should stimulate your imagination and indulge your curiosity.

Wind Moon
April’s Moon is also known as the Moon of Windbreak. As rain, thunder, and wind storms continue throughout the month of April, they spread seeds and life along with it. Reminding us of the power, strength, and endurance of Mother Nature. Spend some time reflecting on this idea and concept.
Why not embrace that dazzling wind energy? Sit outside and let it blow across your face and through your hair. Let the wind flow through you, around you, and embrace it within you. Bring out your crystals or tools to experience the wind cleansing as well.
Dandelions
Here in Idaho, April brings lots of dandelions! These “weeds” have many uses, so don’t discount them! Here are a few ideas to get you started:
- Create a flower crown
- Make dandelion oil
- Decorate your home with them
- Use them to dye eggs or fabric
- Leave the dandelions alone and watch the bees enjoy them
- Eat them! The whole plant is edible, but make sure they haven’t been sprayed with weed killer. If you’d like to create your own powerful materia medica, check out the Best Herbalism Books for Beginners.
A Pink Moon Ritual for Manifesting Your Dreams
This Candle Magic ritual is perfect for connecting with the themes of April’s Pink Moon, including intuition and new growth!
I highly recommend you check out my Candle Magic Series on YouTube if you’d like more in-depth information. It covers Beginner Basics, How to Cleanse and Dress, Color Meanings, Divination and more!
Gather Your Supplies
- Chime Candle
- Pink (symbolizes self-compassion, joy, and happiness)
- OR Purple (helps with manifestation, creativity, and knowledge)
- Olive oil
- Mint (dried leaves or essential oil) to attract financial prosperity
- Pinch of Nutmeg for luck and good health
- Lavender (dried or essential oil) to promote happiness and peace
- Lighter or matches
- Headphones or earbuds
- Fire-safe candle holder (I like to use a 6.5″ cast iron)
- Supplies for creating a Vision Board:
- Cardstock Paper, Journal, or try creating a digital vision board (Canva would be a great choice for this)
- Scissors
- Glue or tape
- Images or words representing your manifestation goals (Pinterest, Canva, old magazines, photos on your phone, and AI generators are great for this)
Prepare Your Space and Ritual
Organize your supplies in a quiet space where you won’t be disturbed. Somewhere, you can relax and be yourself. Create a cozy space for yourself with mood lighting, candles, incense, diffuser, or whatever makes your heart sing. I’d also recommend cleansing the space in the method of your choice.
Arrange your supplies on a clean altar or table. Ensure it’s safe to burn a candle. Grab your purple or pink candle. Chime candles are popular choices, but feel free to use any candle you prefer. If you need help choosing, watch my YouTube video, Types of Candles and Beginner Basics.
Dress the candle will olive oil, mint, nutmeg, and lavender. For a step-by-step tutorial, check out my YouTube video, How to Cleanse and Dress a Spell Candle. Although this step isn’t required, every ingredient helps add its own magic and spiritual intentions to your manifestation.
Start the Candle Ritual
Before lighting the candle, take a moment to focus on what you want to manifest. Imagine it clearly in your mind as if it’s happened already. You want it to feel so real that it’s almost like a memory. When you’re ready, light the candle. Remember, the candle flame represents your manifestations and dreams coming to life.
Put on your headphones and play music that triggers strong and happy reactions! It should be powerful enough to make you emotional. You should feel inspired, amazing, and ready to take on the world. Let the music boost your energy and excitement for your dreams.
I often use movie scores and soundtracks. Sorry, I love music and can definitely get carried away. You get the point, though; listen to your favorites! Here are a few ideas to help get you started:
- A Dark Knight by Hans Zimmer & James Newton Howard
- Lord of The Rings / Hobbit music by Howard Shore
- Dune Score by Hans Zimmer (Gom Jabbar and Ripples in the Sand are my faves)
- I created this Throwback playlist on Spotify a lot (it’s mostly late 90’s and early 00’s)
Creating Your Vision Board
While your candle burns and your music plays, it’s time to get creative! Make a vision board using paper, a journal, or even a digital platform like Canva. Add any pictures or words that represent what you want and inspire you.
Feel the positive energy around you as you create your vision board. Let it fill you with confidence as you attract your manifestation with this ritual.
Close the Ritual
After finishing your vision board, take a moment to think about how you feel and say what you’re grateful for. Allow the candle to burn down completely. Keep your vision board somewhere you’ll see it every day, reminding you of what’s on its way.
